The new Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Informatization is Veronika Remišová

Veronika Remišová was appointed the new Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Informatization. On Saturday, she took over the Office from the former Deputy Prime Minister Richard Raši.

“Remove bureaucracy, get rid of corruption and simplify spending of EU funds, fully launch development of regions and move informatization to a higher level so that it can finally make lives of citizens easier instead of burdening them uselessly; these are my main priorities at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. I am ready to assume responsibility and lead this Office the best way I can in order to let people finally feel the benefits of its operation”, the Deputy Prime Minister said.

For ten years, Veronika Remišová was working at the European Commission. She launched her political career at the local government level, as a member of the city council. In 2016, she was elected a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

In the previous election period, she was one of the most active members of the National Council. During 4 years of her tenure, she submitted 140 draft laws, 40 draft amendment proposals, 24 interpellations to members of the Government and had 369 speeches in plenary sessions of the parliament. In her long-term activities, she has been focusing on the fight against corruption, EU funds and open governance.

 My first steps will focus on adoption of measures aimed at fighting the Corona virus. Therefore, I summoned the internal crisis staff today that will deal with the proposal of necessary actions. We are in touch with the European Commission and we will do our best to redirect available money to the needs of people are most struck by the current crisis and on measures that will help us overcome this difficult situation”, Deputy Prime Minister Remišová added.
