Slovak Companies Completed the Demo Day Acceleration Programme in Israel

Companies that succeeded in the calls of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investment and Informatization (ODPMII) officially completed the Innovation Leaders Open Gate acceleration programme in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Thursday. Companies were given the opportunity to introduce their innovative solutions to a jury of experts, investors, and media representatives. At the same time, they applied for funding from representatives of Israeli funds.

“Slovak companies completed the intensive two-month acceleration programme with the “Demo Day” event. Entrepreneurs presented their solutions and innovations directly in front of investors, with whom they can establish business partnerships. This is a chance to turn from a local player to a global one. I am glad that it was our Office that gave this chance to the Slovak entrepreneurs,” said Richard Raši.

Supported projects of six Slovak companies in the fields of Industry 4.0, Cyber Security and Biotechnology were part of the support of experimental development and innovation implemented by the ODPMII. It focuses on building the public-private partnerships.

Shibetz Cohen, director of the Innovation Leaders Open Gate programme, is very proud of Slovak companies but, according to him, it is only up to the skill of their representatives to capitalize on their knowledge and incorporate it into their business plans. “Demo Day is a combination of good ideas and investors in a one unit aimed at bringing benefits and success to both sides,” said Shibetz Cohen.

In addition to the supported companies, young students from the High School of Technology and Design in Poprad also attended the Demo Day. They were given a chance to present their “Forgotten Children in the Car” project to a jury. Their idea refers to cases of children forgotten in the cars; it wants to prevent similarly unfortunate cases using a special chip.
